The deadline to file for a Plano City Council seat or a Plano ISD board of trustees seat in the May 9 election ended at 5 p.m. Feb. 27. Early voting is April 27–May 5. The last day to register to vote is April 9.
City of Plano
The City of Plano has all new faces running for four open council seats in the May 9 election.
Places 1, 3, 5 and 7 are up for election and the three incumbents able to seek re-election did not choose to file.
In Place 1, currently held by Pat Miner, his wife, Angela Miner, has filed for a place on the ballot and has no opposition. Pat Miner was term-limited and unable to seek re-election.
In Place 3, currently held by Andre Davidson, Rick Grady stepped down from his position as chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission and has filed for the council seat. Davidson did not file for re-election.
Current Place 5 Councilman Jim Duggan did not file for re-election. Newcomers Mike Mansfield, Matt Lagos and Ron Kelley have filed for the seat.
Pat Gallager, who currently holds the Place 7 seat, also chose not to seek re-election. Tom Harrison and Jim McGee have filed for the seat.
Plano ISD board of trustees
Plano ISD has places 4, 5 and 7 up for grabs in the May 9 election.
For Place 4, incumbent Mike Friedman has filed for re-election. He will face challenger Yoram Solomon and Sharon Hirsch.
For Place 5, incumbent David Stolle filed for re-election and is running unopposed.
For Place 7, incumbent Missy Bender has filed for re-election. She will face newcomer Paul Kaminsky.
