The city of Sunset Valley celebrated 60 years of incorporation with a special event Sept. 20 that featured live music, food trucks, prize drawings and activities for children.

The anniversary took place on MSG Bob Horrigan Trail from noon–4 p.m. and partially overlapped with that morning's Sustainable Food Center Farmers Market at Sunset Valley.

Fortunately for event organizers, predicted showers never materialized, and residents and guests experienced sunny weather for the festivities.

The event was the second celebration of the weekend for Sunset Valley. On Sept. 19, the city hosted a 60th birthday bash at City Hall that included refreshments, door prizes and 1950s-era music.
