CY-FAIR ISD—Community members raised about $30,000 for the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation during the inaugural Cy-Fair ISD Superintendent Fun Run that took place Feb. 15 in Towne Lake.
"It was a beautiful day and an exciting launch point for an event that we anticipate will further benefit the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation every year," Superintendent Mark Henry said. "The atmosphere was exactly what I had hoped for—a family gathering with the Cy-Fair family that was extended out to the community."
More than 3,500 people participated in the event, which featured a 5K, 1-mile run and a family walk. The theme for this year's event was "Superheroes for Kids."
In the future, Henry said he hopes the annual event will raise about $100,000 for the CFEF, which provides money for student scholarships and teacher grants.
