Patrick Terry, founder of P. Terry's Burger Stand, confirmed Nov. 20 that he received approval from the city of Austin to build a new restaurant on Burnet Road just south of US 183.
Construction will start on the new location at 8533 Burnet Road after the New Year.
"We will probably be open in mid-summer," he said.
Restaurant No. 9 will be 1,000 square feet with a double drive-thru. Just like the eighth location that is opening in December on US 183, there will be no indoor dining area, Terry said. The new restaurant will have a different look, however, from location No. 8. Terry said the size of the property usually dictates how large he can build a new restaurant.
P. Terry's will have opened two new locations in 2013, both in North Austin. The seventh location opened June 27 at 12301 N. MoPac, and the eighth location will open at 12018 Research Blvd. www.pterrys.com
