City Council approved several measures Aug. 6 to respond to residents' recent encounters with coyotes.
Sunset Valley lifted its temporary ban on dogs on the city's nature trails and approved posting signs warning trail users of coyotes in the area.
The council also expanded the city's no-feed ordinance to include all wildlife except birds and squirrels.
Most coyotes avoid humans, according to Texas Wildlife Services. Sunset Valley encourages residents to throw items and make loud noises at coyotes to scare them away.
To report coyote activity, call the Sunset Valley Police Department at 512-892-1384.
