Editor's note: Community Impact Newspaper initially published a story in its July print edition incorrectly stating that the Summit Christian Academy campus in Leander had been sold to Austin Peace Academy.

Summit Christian Academy released a statement June 20 indicating the Leander property has not been sold as school leaders are still in negotiations.

"We are not under any contract with the organization mentioned nor do we have any intentions of selling the campus to them. In fact, we are currently under contract with another organization," SCA Board President John Rothans said in a statement.

SCA has been in negotiations with Austin Peace Academy as well as several other organizations over the past several months, according to the statement.

In May, Austin Peace Academy Director of Academic Affairs Alex Prichard said the Muslim school signed a contract with SCA in April and is still actively pursuing purchase of the campus. APA held three open house days in May for parents to see the 14-acre Leander site, Prichard said.
