The City of Pflugerville announced on Jan. 17 the implementation of a Web-based system to help process open records requests, according to a city news release.
The Open Records Request Center, powered by FOIA Systems, allows residents to visit www.pflugerville.gov/openrecords and make a request. After a request has been made, residents can track the status of their request, communicate with the city and pick up the documents.
"We think this service significantly enhances our customer service around open record requests," City Secretary Karen Thompson said in the release. "Plus it has the additional feature of making the city's open records process more prompt and efficient for city staff."
The system will also allow city staff to fulfill requests more quickly by creating a more organized way to receive, process and track requests and communicate needs between departments, the release said.
