Microsoft Corp. announced June 26 the closure of all of its physical Microsoft Store locations as part of a "strategic change" in its retail operations. The location inside The Mall at Green Hills, 2126 Abbott Martin Road, Nashville, is included in the companywide store closures.

The company’s retail employees will continue to offer sales, training and support remotely and from Microsoft corporate facilities, according to a news release. Microsoft Experience Centers in London; New York City; Sydney; and Redmond, Washington, will remain open.

“Our sales have grown online as our product portfolio has evolved to largely digital offerings, and our talented team has proven success serving customers beyond any physical location,” Microsoft Corporate Vice President David Porter said in the release. “We are grateful to our Microsoft Store customers and we look forward to continuing to serve them online and with our retail sales team at Microsoft corporate locations.”

Microsoft Store locations have been closed since late March due to COVID-19, according to the release.
