Davidson County coronavirus cases rise by more than 300 in 24 hours

Cases of coronavirus in Davidson County have risen to 18,978 as of July 31, according to the latest update from the Tennessee Department of Health.

This marks an increase of 302 new cases reported in the county since the department’s last update July 30.


There are now 4,612 active cases of coronavirus in the county, a decrease of 50 since yesterday. Statewide, there are 104,778 total cases, 1,060 cumulative deaths and an estimated 66,357 recoveries to date. Twenty-seven people have died of the virus in Tennessee since yesterday’s update.

Overall, more than 1.51 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state, according to the TDH update, including more than 32,500 reported in the last 24 hours.
