1. Happy Noon Year at Adventure Science Center

Where: Adventure Science Center, 800 Fort Negley Blvd., Nashville

When: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 31

Families looking for New Year’s Eve fun before the night’s festivities will enjoy the Adventure Science Center’s annual Happy Noon Year. Start the day off with a morning filled with science activities, crafts and a balloon drop celebration at noon.

2. Jack Daniel's Music City Midnight: New Year's Eve in Nashville

When: Event site opens at 4 p.m., Dec. 31

Where: 600 James Robertson Parkway, Nashville

Nashville’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration is the place to be if you want to ring in the New Year with thousands of country and rock fans at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The free show features performances by Keith Urban, Peter Frampton, Judah & the Lion, Caitlyn Smith, Devon Gilfillian and the Fisk Jubilee Singers. Stick around to see the 15-foot-tall red music note drop at midnight.

3. Champagne Dinner at City Winery

When: 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., Dec. 31

Where: City Winery, 609 Lafayette St, Nashville

Start off your evening with City Winery’s annual New Year’s Eve Champagne Dinner. Enjoy a 4-course dinner paired with Sommelier-curated sparkling wine. And if you don’t have other plans, stay for a special performance by singer-songwriter Marc Broussard at 11 p.m. (tickets sold separately).

4. John Prine and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats at the Opry House

Where: Opry House, 2804 Opryland Dr., Nashville

When: 8 p.m. Dec. 31

If you don’t want to get caught up in Broadway traffic but still want to catch a good show, John Prine will close out the year at the Opry House with Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and Iris DeMent. The singer-songwriter, who rang in 2017 with Kacey Musgraves, will perform old favorites along with new material from his 2018 album, The Tree of Forgiveness.

5. Old Crow Medicine Show at the Ryman

Where: Ryman Auditorium, 116 5th Ave. N, Nashville

When: 7:30 p.m. Dec. 30; 9 p.m. Dec. 31

Americana group Old Crow Medicine Show have performed a New Year’s Eve show at the Ryman Auditorium nine times over the past decade. If you can’t ring in the New Year at Nashville's “Mother Church,” you can celebrate early when the group perform old and new hits on Dec. 30.
