1. Shake Shack

While an official opening date for Shake Shack has not been announced, the company says it will be serving its signature burgers and crinkle fries by "late August." Shake Shack's first Tennessee location will be at 4031 Hillsboro Pike inside Hill Center Green Hills.

Along with sandwiches, hot dogs and shakes, we now know the restaurant will feature three items unique to Nashville. In an interview with Garden & Gun, the chain revealed it will serve a cheeseburger topped with seasoned cracklins' from Nashville's own Peg Leg Porker, as well as two custards made with ingredients from Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co and Little Mosko'.

2. True Food Kitchen

True Food Kitchen will open Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 3994 Hillsboro Pk inside Vertis Green Hills. The restaurant features a health-conscious, seasonal menu of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes created with an anti-inflammatory diet in mind. While the menu is plant-heavy, you can also find meat options like fish tacos, grilled chicken and a grass-fed burger.

Since announcing its first Tennessee location in Green Hills nearly three years ago, Oprah has partnered with the company to support its national expansion. The Nashville location is currently hiring and will have a job fair later this month.

3. Char

Another restaurant preparing for a fall opening is Char, an upscale steakhouse and piano bar that will occupy the first floor of Vertis. At Char, you'll find lunch, dinner and weekend brunch options, as well as wines, cocktails and spirits. The restaurant's only other locations are in Jackson, Mississippi, and Memphis.

Char Nashville says of it's progress: "You may not be able to tell, but we’re standing behind the bar - sans wine, bourbon and other fun things. Soon enough, you’ll be able to have any of the above while listening to a live pianist!"

4. First Watch

First Watch, a daytime cafe serving health-minded brunch, breakfast and lunch options, is planning to open later this year in the former Kohana space at 2002 Richard Jones Road. The restaurant offers traditional breakfast and lunch choices, as well as modern brunch items like lemon ricotta pancakes, avocado toast and breakfast tacos.
