Blues rock artist Boz Scaggs will replace Huey Lewis and the News as entertainment at the 2018 Swan Ball. Organizers of the annual gala, now in its 56th year, had previously booked Lewis for the June 2 Cheekwood fundraiser.
In a statement last month, Lewis said his doctors believe he has Meniere's disease—a type of inner ear disorder—and that he must cancel all future shows. Lewis said he lost most of his hearing earlier this year but “can’t hear music well enough to sing.â€

Scaggs, known for his singles “Lido Shuffle†and “Lowdown,†is gearing up for the July release of his new album, Out of the Blues. Sheryl Crow, Reba McEntire, Jennifer Hudson and Steve Martin have performed the function in recent years.
The theme for Swan Ball 2018 is A Story of Champagne and the Stars, which calls back to the decade of Art Deco modernism in the 1920s.
