The city of Franklin announced Aug. 24 the Tennessee Department of Transportation will begin a paving project on Franklin Road, Main Street and Columbia Avenue later this month.

The city will begin prep work on the roadway from Aug. 24-28. Drivers should expect some intermittent lane closures.

Beginning Aug. 31, TDOT will begin roadwork, according to the city.

TDOT's work is expected to last through Oct. 23.

The roadwork will occur on Franklin Road from the Harpeth Bridge up north to Country Road, on Main Street from the Harpeth Bridge to the Five Points intersection and on Columbia Avenue from Five Points to the Mack C. Hatcher Parkway.

Residents can expect intermittent lane closures as well as overnight road closures and detours.
