The organization announced June 2 it has reached an agreement with North Carolina-based real estate company Highwoods Properties to sell the property in the next two years.
The YMCA has previously said it will use the proceeds from the sale to expand its facility on Concord Road.
"The Y's agreement with Highwoods reaffirms the promise we made to you last summer: to operate the Maryland Farms Y for as long as it takes to complete the Brentwood Y renovation and expansion, and to keep the Brentwood YMCA open throughout the project," YMCA officials said via a social media announcement. "The Y and Highwoods expect the property to change hands sometime in 2023. This will ensure the smoothest transition possible for our Maryland Farms and Brentwood members, as well as other members who may frequent these locations."
