Franklin City Administrator Eric Stuckey announced April 30 some amenities in city parks would reopen May 1 following periods of closure to the public from coronavirus concerns.
Amenities scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. Friday include tennis courts and the skate park at Jim Warren Park and the dog parks at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm and Liberty Park. The equestrian trails at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm will reopen on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
“We were saddened to close some of our amenities beginning March 27 due to the coronavirus,” Parks Director Lisa Clayton said in a release. “We look forward to citizens getting back to these areas of our parks, but also encourage citizens to practice physical distancing guidelines from the CDC, to keep themselves and others safe to stop the spread.”
Batting cages, basketball courts, sports fields, restrooms and playgrounds at city parks will remain closed until further notice, according to the release.
