AMC Theatres—which has multiple locations across the U.S., including one in Franklin at 633 Frazier Drive—will begin reopening its movie screens Aug. 20, according to an Aug. 11 news release.

AMC Enterprise Holdings Inc. will reopen its 630 locations in phases, adhering to local and state health guidelines, the release said. The AMC website listed more than 400 locations that will open in August and September.

For theaters opening Aug. 20, ticket prices on reopening day will cost 15 cents, commemorating the first AMC screen that debuted in 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, and charged 15 cents per ticket, according to the release.

The theaters will comply with local and state guidelines. The AMC Safe and Clean program will have safety features that include mandatory mask-wearing for employees and customers, enhanced cleaning protocols, upgraded air filtering and reduced theater capacity, according to the company website.

AMC Enterprise Holdings Inc. temporarily closed all locations March 17 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A complete list of reopenings is available on the AMC website.
