Medacta USA to relocate headquarters to Franklin

Orthopedic and medical device maker Medacta USA will relocate its U.S. headquarters from Chicago to Franklin, according to a May 20 announcement from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

The company is expected to invest $2.5 million and create 50 new jobs over the next five years at its new location, expected to be constructed at 6640 Carothers Parkway, Franklin. The company is a subsidiary of Switzerland-based Medacta International, according to the release. Medacta specializes in orthopedic products as well as surgical techniques for minimally invasive procedures.

“In Franklin we not only seek great business partners, but we want good corporate neighbors,” Mayor Ken Moore said in a statement. “I believe Medacta USA fits that bill and I look forward to celebrating the economic and social impact this company will have on our area.”

An exact relocation date has not yet been announced.
