The Williamson County Board of Commissioners plan to consider amending the county’s budget for FY 2019-20 to allow for more money for schools, parks and recreation, libraries and more at its June 8 meeting.
The meeting, which is planned to be held electronically due to coronavirus concerns, will include resolutions concerning the increase of allocated funds for Williamson County Schools for additional special education expenses, property insurance claims, payroll costs incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic for cafeterias, the hiring of more special resource officers and other allocations for the general purpose fund.
The amendments for WCS to be decided by the board of commissioners add up to $1.95 million in budget amendments. The board will also consider a resolution approving the purchase of more Chromebooks for WCS students at its June 8 meeting.
A budget amendment of $5,000 for Williamson County libraries and an amendment of $257,000 for the county’s parks and recreation department is also on the agenda for the June 8 board meeting.
