The city of Brentwood will host a public meeting June 29 for residents affected by flood damage who are interested in raising their homes.

The meeting, to be held at 6 p.m. at City Hall, located at 5211 Maryland Way, Brentwood, will include information on the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency's Hazard Mitigation Program, which is used to repair or acquire homes that have sustained flood damage.

A number of homes in the city saw damage during a heavy rain event March 27-28, when the area saw more than 8 inches of rainfall, according to the city.

The city is seeking HMP funds to elevate structures in the city that have been damaged. The meeting will include an overview on program eligibility and the grant application process.

Residents who have questions regarding home elevation or the program can contact the city's planning department at 615-371-2204.
