Williamson County Schools and Franklin Special School District announced Feb. 17 that schools will remain closed through the rest of the week due to ongoing inclement weather and road conditions.

Campuses will be closed to students and staff Feb. 18-19, and students learning online will not be required to complete school work, according to WCS and FSSD.

"While the main roads have mostly been cleared, there are many secondary and neighborhood streets that would make bus travel dangerous," FSSD officials announced via the district website. "In addition, the forecast is for more snow and ice overnight and throughout the morning on Thursday."

The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures below freezing through at least Feb. 20, with more ice accumulation, snow and sleet possible for the area.
