Williamson County Schools board to vote on resolution calling for cancellation of TNReady testing

Schools throughout Williamson County reopened this month; however, school officials are recognizing this will not be a normal academic year.

Williamson County Schools to reopen schools with phased-in approach beginning Aug. 24

Williamson County Schools officials announced Aug. 14 that the district will begin allowing students to return to their classrooms beginning later this month.



A plan will be implemented for a "phased-in return beginning Aug. 24 and continuing through the end of the month," according to the announcement.

District officials: Staffing shortage at Williamson County Schools hitting ‘crisis points’

In the Aug. 10 work session, district staff and the Williamson County Schools Board of Education discussed some of the challenges facing students and staff this year, one of the biggest of which is staffing. When asked about the district’s biggest need at the moment, Superintendent Jason Golden said more staff is needed across the board.

Golden said he will ask the district to allocate resources to help hire more staff during the board’s Aug. 17 regular board meeting.
