The community college, which has a Williamson campus in Franklin, said it will offer courses online and with limited in-person instruction. The semester will still follow the school's normal academic calendar, beginning Aug. 24 and ending Dec. 11.
According to CSCC officials, all lecture courses will be livestreamed via Zoom, allowing students and instructors to interact in real time, and whenever possible, labs will be converted to online formats.
“All changes were made with the health and safety of our students and employees as the most important factor,” CSCC President Janet F. Smith said in a release. “The schedule is diverse in formats and combined with student support resources which provides opportunities for quality instruction and student success in reaching their goals.”
However, some courses will still require some in-person instruction, such as classes in health sciences, physical education, fire science and engineering technology programs.
CSCC will also continue to offer a variety of online-only courses, in which content is posted online and class meetings are not required.
Those planning to attend the fall semester must apply by Aug. 7, according to CSCC.
