Officials with Williamson County Schools announced Dec. 10 the district will dismiss students two hours early to help avoid any issues with transporting students home in the cold weather.

"Out of an abundance of caution, we will be dismissing two hours early today, Tuesday, December 10, 2019, to ensure that our buses complete their routes across the district before dark," the district stated in a social media post. "That means if school normally dismisses at 2:50, it will dismiss at 12:50."

The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures will drop to the low 20s by the evening, and there is a 30% chance of snow in the afternoon. Some areas of Franklin have already seen flurries of snow this morning.

Additionally, the district said all second session early childhood classes will be canceled this afternoon; however, School Aged Child Care will operate on its regular schedule.
