The total number of coronavirus cases in Williamson County has risen to 4,260 as of Aug. 27, according to the latest update from the Tennessee Department of Health. This marks an increase of 50 new cases since the department’s last update Aug. 26.

This latest total includes 1,159 active cases, or people who are currently infected with the coronavirus. The estimated number of recovered cases in Williamson County now totals 3,074. Williamson County Schools remains in the "low spread" scenario outlined in its reopening framework.

The number of active cases in the county has not been this low since July 13, when active cases numbered 1,189. In the weeks since, the county saw a spike in new active cases, which was followed by a slow decline in recent weeks.

Statewide cases now total 149,179, an increase of 1,826 since Aug. 26.

Since the pandemic reached Tennessee in March, more than 1,600 deaths have been reported, and over 6,600 individuals have been hospitalized. An estimated 111,416 residents have recovered from the virus.
