Gov. Bill Lee announces ‘Tennessee Pledge’ plan to reopen businesses next week
In a COVID-19 briefing April 24, Gov. Bill Lee announced plans to begin reopening businesses throughout 89 of Tennessee’s 95 counties starting April 27 as coronavirus cases in Tennessee continue to grow.
DATA: Overall rate of positive coronavirus cases declining in Nashville despite day-over-day increases
With more new cases being announced each day, it can be difficult to tell how the rate of new coronavirus cases is responding to social distancing efforts.
On April 23, the Tennessee Department of Health announced the state now has more than 8,200 confirmed cases, which marks more than 400 new cases since the day before.
However, while data from the TDH shows large variations in day-over-day increases, when compared to the total number of tests conducted daily, the rate of positive cases is declining.
Tennessee state parks to reopen April 24
After 20 days of being closed, Gov. Bill Lee announced that the majority of Tennessee’s state parks will reopen April 24 at a press conference on April 23.
