Williamson Medical Center to resume overnight, inpatient elective procedures beginning Aug. 24

Citing a stabilizing pattern in the number of reported active coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in the county and state, officials with the Williamson Medical Center announced Aug. 18 it will begin allowing inpatient elective surgeries requiring an overnight stay to resume later this month.

More than 240 active cases were added to the county's total in the past 24 hours, according to Tennessee Department of Health data.

In the last week alone, active coronavirus cases have risen by more than 50% to 1,481 active cases as of Nov. 15, according to the Tennessee Department of Health. Active cases have not been at that level since July, according to TDH data.
