The city of Brentwood will host the inaugural History Buff Bowl on Aug. 8 to allow residents to put their knowledge of American history to the test.

The event, to be held from 2-4 p.m. at Brentwood City Hall, located at 5211 Maryland Way, will feature five groups competing in a Jeopardy-style game answering questions.

For the past several years, the city has also hosted the Battle of the Minds History Bowl for Williamson County Schools students. This will be the first event for adults.

Five groups will compete for the chance to win $100 for their club or organization. The groups include:

  • Brentwood Morning Rotary

  • Brentwood Noon Rotary

  • Brentwood and Franklin Women's Service Club

  • Hillsboro-Brentwood Exchange Club

  • Friends of the Brentwood Library

The event is free to attend and is sponsored by the Brentwood Historic Commission.
