Nonprofit organization Shield Bearer announced July 10 it opened a new counseling office at 105 FM 1488, Conroe, just north of The Woodlands. The organization offers counseling services, prevention programs, and training for families, businesses, churches and schools.

“We have seen an increase in the demand for Christian professional counseling services and prevention programs all over the Greater Houston area,” Shield Bearer Executive Director Roy Wooten said. “Survivors of Hurricane Harvey, crime, abuse, and human trafficking, veterans and active military personnel, struggling marriages, and thousands of others are in desperate need of healing. Shield Bearer is committed to going where needed and providing exceptional services and programs at a reasonable cost.”

The office has opened in partnership with Grace Crossing Church, according to a news release.

“We are excited about this partnership with Grace Crossing Church and look forward to building additional relationships with churches, schools and businesses in The Woodlands,” Associate Director Melissa Rotholz said. “When the community comes together to support struggling families, the impact can be felt for generations.”
