Gallery Baroness opened in early August at 310 Morton St., Richmond, in the old Post Office building downtown. The brick and mortar art gallery is owned by artist Kimberley Cleland and offers contemporary, experimental and traditional fine art pieces. Prices of the artwork vary widely, from $50 to $4,000.

Cleland will host a “Meet the Artist” event 4-7 p.m. the first Saturday of every month. This month, guests can mingle with 11 local artists and one author that will feature their work Oct. 7 at the gallery. At each event, refreshments and cake are served. Unwine'd, a wine and cheese lounge that opened in August next door to the gallery, invites guests to stop by during and throughout the events. 832-490-8777. www.gallerybaroness.com.
