Frank and Katherine Stanley opened National Treasure Restaurant & Bar earlier this year at 12640 Telge Road, Ste. D, Cypress, serving regional American cuisine made with local ingredients. The owners are in the process of planning a grand opening party, but said the date and other details are still in the works.

The veteran-owned restaurant serves lunch, dinner and brunch on the weekends. The menu offers American cuisine inspired by a variety of regional specialties from across the U.S., Katherine said. Popular items include the Oklahoma Bull Fries, the mid-Atlantic braised short ribs and the Freedom sandwich—inspired by the Phili Cheesesteak and made with caramelized onion and a sauteed tri-pepper blend and served on a homemade roll.

The Stanleys try to use ingredients as close to the local area as possible, Katherine said, including local produce and dairy. All meat dishes use local meat, including the chicken-fried steak, burgers and short ribs.

The eatery also offers a bar menu featuring bottled and draft beer and a variety of wine, including wines from family-owned wineries in Texas, Oregon and Washington. Upcoming events include a tap takeover with Back Pew Brewing on May 25 and a wine dinner with Fall Creek Wines on June 21. A tap takeover with Revolver Brewing will take place around the end of June, Katherine said.
