Alwin and Leeja Thomas opened Code Ninjas at 6875 FM 1488, Ste. 1100, Magnolia, on April 15. The coding education center features a self-paced, game-based curriculum teaching children ages 7-14 computer coding and problem-solving skills by building video games, according to an April 16 news release. Code senseis lead students through each of the nine levels called belts—like in martial arts. According to the release, students will publish a mobile application in an app store by the time they finish the program. The Magnolia center offers weeknight drop-in programs, summer camps and parents night out events. A grand opening is planned for May 4.

"Code Ninjas is a fun place where children will think critically and learn a valuable skill set that can help them in their future goals and aspirations," Alwin Thomas said in the release.

Code Ninjas is a Houston-based coding franchise launched in 2016 by founder and CEO David Graham.
