Medical City McKinney, 4500 Medical Center Drive, broke ground May 9 on its $52 million behavioral health and rehabilitation services pavilion.

The expansion, which is expected to be complete in December 2019, will allow the hospital to relocate its services from the Wysong campus in McKinney to the main campus. When complete, the pavilion will include 20 inpatient rehabilitation rooms, 80 adult and geriatric behavior health rooms, an outpatient behavioral health program and an outdoor healing garden.

“Medical City McKinney is expanding to meet our growing community’s needs,” CEO of Medical City McKinney Ernest C. Lynch said in a press release. “This project is just the beginning of a multi-phase expansion for the hospital.”

The new pavilion is part of the hospitals $1.7 billion capital investment initiative which will be spent or committed over five years, according to the release.
