Local officials and Hillwood Properties, HPI Real Estate Services & Investments will break ground on a 108-acre mixed-use master development at 300 Vista Ridge, Kyle next week.

Situated on the west side of I-35 between Loop 4 and Kyle Crossing, the Hays Commerce Center will be a two-building distribution and fulfillment center totaling over 400,000 square feet of leasable space. Officials will break ground at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a news release, Kyle Mayor Travis Mitchell said one of the city's goals is to be a location where residents can experience a high quality of life while also working in the community.

“The availability of speculative space in Kyle enhances our ability to attract and retain employers of choice. The jobs created at Hays Commerce Center will provide Kyle-area residents with good quality jobs close to home and other developers will take notice of the opportunities here,” Mitchell said.

Tenants for Hays Commerce Center are currently being secured, according to the news release.

Alsco, a provider of professional textile rental services, will be the first to enter the commerce center.

Construction will begin with building 1, a 220,000-square-foot building that will open this winter.
