In response to many residents unable to make the trek to its South Lamar Boulevard location, ZACH Theatre will open a second spot in Northwest Austin. “People love us, but they just can’t get here for our classes,” said Chad Dike, ZACH associate education director. The nearly 85-year-old nonprofit organization offers adult and family-friendly programming at its location at South Lamar and Riverside Drive. The theater also offers classes for children age 3 1/2 through 12th grade. In January, ZACH Theatre will open a satellite location at 12129 N. RM 620, Ste. 310, Austin, near the intersection of Lake Creek Boulevard. Classes won’t begin until Jan. 23, but ZACH will host an open house Dec. 3 for students to sample classes. ZACH will also host a winter break camp for elementary-age children Dec. 27-30. Students will be able to take classes in acting and musical theater as well as creative drama, which is an introduction to acting, Dike said. Call 512-476-0594, ext. 236 or visit www.zachtheatre.org for more information or to register for classes.
