On April 5, Austin ISD Superintendent Paul Cruz selected four AISD educators as 2017 Teachers of the Year, including Lanier High School teacher Tara Bordeaux, who leads the school’s audio-video production class.

In her four years as an AISD teacher, Bordeaux has guided students’ work on a variety of projects, including a “PBS News Hour” documentary with KLRU Austin’s Judy Maggio.
