After opening the direct connector from Hwy. 290 eastbound to I-10 the morning of Oct. 13, the Texas Department of Transportation is continuing work this weekend on other portions of the Hwy. 290 expansion project. The following lane closures have been scheduled:



Hwy. 290 eastbound mainlanes will be totally closed from Roberts Road to Mason Road overnight from 8 p.m. Oct. 22 to 6 a.m. Oct. 23. Westbound mainlanes will be totally closed from Mueschke Road to Bauer Road during this same timeframe. Drivers are asked to detour to the frontage roads.



Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage roads from Mason Road to Mueschke Road are closed until further notice. The frontage road is closed between the entrance after Mason Road and the exit before Mueschke Road with those entrance and exit ramps remaining open providing access to those roads.



The Hwy. 290 westbound frontage road will be closed from Fairfield Place Drive to Bauer Road continuously until 3 p.m. Jan. 1, 2015. Drivers should detour to the Hwy. 290 mainlanes.



Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage roads will be closed from Eldridge Parkway to West Road nightly, excluding Sundays, from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. until the morning of Nov. 15.



Eastbound frontage roads from West Road to Jones Road are also closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. until Nov. 15. Sundays are not excluded for this portion, with Saturday and Sunday closure times running from 7 p.m.–7 a.m.



Eastbound frontage roads from Jones Road to FM 529 will be totally closed until 9 a.m. Dec. 1. Drivers can detour to the mainlanes and exit back onto the frontage road at the FM 529 exit.



Eastbound exit ramps to both Eldridge and Jones roads will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. until the morning of Nov. 17. Drivers can exit at the next ramp and make a U-turn.



The westbound exit ramp from Hwy. 290 to Skinner Road will continue to be closed until 5 a.m. July 10, 2015. Drivers can exit at the Barker Cypress exit and remain on the frontage road to access Skinner.
