As construction continues on the Tomball Tollway expansion, the Lone Star College-Tomball campus will close at the end of business Friday, May 19, and remain closed through Sunday, May 21.

Total closure of the campus—including the LSC-Tomball Community Library, the Vet Tech Building and the Performing Arts Center—comes as natural gas to the campus is turned off so tollway construction can continue.

According to a statement on LSC-Tomball's website, the natural gas will be turned off Saturday and Sunday. As a result, backup generator power will not be available—meaning that elevators and emergency lighting will not be available inside of buildings in an emergency situation.

All entrances to the campus will be blocked beginning Friday evening.

"We apologize for this inconvenience, but it's important that we continue to provide employees and visitors with as safe an environment as possible during the expansion of [the Tomball Tollway]," the statement said.
