FM 1488 at FM 149 overpass
At its Oct. 11 meeting, Magnolia City Council adopted a resolution to name the overpass Butler’s Crossing to honor the Butler family who owned land near the intersection of FM 1488 and FM 149. The Texas Department of Transportation overpass will feature two sets of cloverleaf access ramps near Magnolia High School and Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad at FM 149.

Fagan Lane construction
The Fagan Lane project—which will create a new road in Tomball running parallel to the Grand Parkway between Cedar Lane and Telge Road—began this summer. The project is slated to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Recent updates


Burroughs Park access road
A second access road will be added to Burroughs Park between the park and Saddlecliff Trail in Tomball to mitigate traffic along Kuykendahl and Hufsmith roads while adding a new entrance to the park. Traffic signal modifications will also be made. The project is in the study phase and a construction start date has not yet been set.

North Eldridge Parkway widening
The multipart road widening and intersection improvement project will expand the roadway from two to four concrete lanes between Spring Cypress Road and Westlock Drive in Tomball. The project is in the study phase and a construction start date has not yet been set.

Cost: $5.5 million
Funding sources: Harris County Precinct 4


North Eldridge Parkway intersections
As part of a Harris County Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality project, traffic signals will be added in Tomball on North Eldridge Parkway at the New Hampton Drive/Lakewood Villa Drive and Guernsey Drive intersections. According to
Precinct 4 officials, the specific installation dates for each intersection have not been identified but will be determined once project designs are made public for a construction bid. The project is in the study phase.
