Health care providers extend services to mobile technology platforms

With the ever-growing use of smart phones and mobile devices, the Tomball Regional Medical Center is increasing its handheld technology platforms to engage with patients.

TRMC’s My Health Home Patient Portal is an online profile patients can use to view personal health records and history, lab test results and other information related to treatment at the medical center.

In addition to My Health Home, TRMC also uses mobile apps to allow users to stay connected with physicians. TRMC’s maternity ward, The Women’s Center, uses Text4Baby, a mobile app that sends information about prenatal and postnatal care as well as reminders about physician appointments.

Following a hospital stay, apps can be used to manage health insurance.

Major insurance providers, such as Aetna, Anthem, Humana and UnitedHealthcare, have developed apps to help patients file claims, manage benefits and find in-network health care providers and pharmacies.
