According to the U.S. Department of Energy, up to 32 teams will test their math and science knowledge at Texas A&M University on Saturday, Feb. 4. The winning team will represent the region—made up of more than 175 counties in Texas—at the National Science Bowl, which takes place April 27-May 1.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the national academic competition features a question-and-answer format testing students on study areas such as biology, chemistry, Earth and space science, physics, energy and math. The national competition for high school students will feature the winning team from each of 68 regions.
