The Federal Railroad Administration will host 10 public hearings throughout Texas in January and February regarding Texas Central's high-speed railway. Community members can attend the public hearings to submit comments on the project.

The FRA signed a draft environmental impact statement for Texas Central in mid-December, which outlines a preferred route from Dallas to Houston.

Texas Central, a private company, plans to construct a 240-mile high-speed rail route from Houston to Dallas. When completed, the multibillion-dollar route will provide riders a 90-minute trip between the two cities.

Community members can comment on the project and the environmental report through Feb. 20 by attending a public hearing, sending an email to [email protected] or completing a form electronically.

After a series of public hearings, the FRA will consider public input from the draft environmental impact statement and compile a final environmental impact statement. The FRA will then issue a record of decision to comply with the permitting process for the project.
