The Woodlands-based Avanti Senior Living is slated to break ground on a new $15 million assisted living and memory care community near Kuykendahl and West Rayford roads in Tomball in early 2016.

“We are passionate about our commitment as change agents in senior living and look forward to providing exceptional living to all seniors,” Avanti Senior Living CEO Tim Hekker said. “We feel privileged to bring our unique concept to Tomball and serve seniors who deserve the best lifestyle experience in their retirement.”

The 77,000-square-foot Avanti Senior Living at Augusta Pines location will welcome its first resident in mid-2017 and house up to 150 residents at build-out. The community will bring more than 60 jobs to Tomball.

The location will offer one- and two-bedroom suites with carpeting, wood flooring, expansive windows, walk-in closets, oversized showers, stone countertops and storage space.

“The layout of the community will give residents easy access to various destinations, including a state-of-the-art wellness center with ballet barre and fitness equipment, a theater, a full-service salon and spa offering relaxation therapy, hair styling, manicures and pedicures and a fully functional art studio,” said Lori Alford, Avanti Senior Living chief operating officer.

Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake in Cypress opened earlier this year, and Avanti Senior Living at Vision Park in Shenandoah is under construction.

In the Tomball area, another new senior living community is in the early stages of construction at Westlock Drive and Hwy. 249. The Harris County Housing Authority and The ITEX Group LLC are working build The Retreat at Westlock, which will be an age 62 and older affordable apartment complex.

The 9.36-acre site will feature 140 one- and two-bedroom units at a price range of $375 to $936 per month.
