The candidacy filing period ended Dec. 11 for the 2018 primary election in March. Contested elections in the Tomball and Magnolia areas include: Texas House districts 126 and 150, state Senate District 7, Harris County Precinct 4 commissioner, Harris County judge, Montgomery County Precinct 2 commissioner, Montgomery County judge and U.S. representative for District 8.

What’s next


Early voting begins Feb. 20 for the March 6 primary election. Several city and school board positions are also up for election in May 2018, including City Council and mayor seats in Magnolia, City Council seats in Tomball and school board trustees. Candidates can file for the May 5 general election, which includes city council and mayor positions, from Jan. 17-Feb. 16.
