Super Bowl pre-party

District 2•4•9 and Thrivent Financial present a Super Bowl Party with a Purpose benefiting the PTSD Foundation of America and Camp Hope in Houston. The event features a concert starring Shay Domann. Guests are encouraged to bring items to donate, including paper towel, toilet paper, pancake mix, peanut butter, canned goods, powdered drink mixes and individual bottled drinks. 6-10 p.m. Free. Lion's Club annual pancake supper

Veterans legal clinic

The Houston Bar Initiative presents a free legal clinic for veterans as part of its Veterans Legal Initiative. Veterans and spouses of deceased veterans can attend to receive legal advice or legal assistance, such as wills, real estate and tax law, and disability and veterans benefits. Bluegrass jam

Magnolia Bluegrass Friends hosts its monthly bluegrass jam and show at the West Montgomery County Community Development Center. The family-friendly event features a live jam session open to the community to enjoy. Individuals can also bring an instrument to participate in the jam.
