Updated 1 p.m. Feb. 19

The Woodlands Township on Feb. 19 announced the voting period for The Woodlands Villages and Residential Design Review Committees was moved back by one week. Election Day for those positions will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 27, and convenience voting will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 22 to Feb. 26, according to a news release. Voting is held at town call at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands.

Township facilities, recreation facilities and the transportation services The Woodlands Express and The Waterway Trolley were still closed as of Feb. 19.

However, Curative COVID-19 testing will resume Feb. 21 at town hall and at the Sterling Ridge Park and Ridge, 8001 McBeth Way, The Woodlands, according to a news release.


The Woodlands Township also announced the scheduled for trash pickup in the next week at its Feb. 18 board of directors meeting.

Updated 9:15 a.m. Feb. 17

The Woodlands Water Agency reported on social media it would reopen at 10 a.m. Feb. 17. The agency stated customers should call 281-850-9217 if they have a water emergency, and that the number shared on Feb. 16 was no longer being used. Officials said there were no widespread outages.



Updated 4:15 p.m. Feb. 16

The Woodlands Water Agency said in a news release the afternoon of Feb. 16 its water distribution system remains strong despite several days of temperatures below freezing.

"As always, we are monitoring the water system 24/7," the release stated. "We see no neighborhood outages at this time. Our staff has responded to dozens of homeowner concerns about frozen pipes, broken plumbing and irrigation lines."

12:09 p.m. Feb. 16


As of Feb. 16, The Woodlands Water Agency, which serves as the central management agency for 10 municipal utility districts in The Woodlands area, shared temporary emergency contact information since its voicemail system was disabled by "weather-related technical difficulties," according to social media posts. The water emergency number is 936-446-6762, and the announcement instructs customers to leave their name, address and phone number on the message.

An earlier update from the agency said it would make a decision Feb. 16 on whether the agency's offices will be open Feb. 17.

In a post on Facebook, commenters reported issues with low water pressure and some outages due to frozen pipes.



The Woodlands Township services

As of noon Feb. 16, The Woodlands Township announced trash collection by Waste Management was expected to begin again Feb. 17 if road conditions allow. The service will be delayed by two days through the rest of the week, according to a news release from The Woodlands. For example, communities that normally see collection on Monday will receive service on Wednesday, conditions permitting.

Recreational facilities still closed as of Feb. 16 included the Riva Row Boat House, Lakes Edge Boat House and Texas TreeVentures.

In addition, The Woodlands Express and The Waterway Trolley were still closed as of Feb. 16.


Additional information on when those services will resume will be shared when it is available.

The Curative COVID-19 testing site at The Woodlands Township building at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands, will be closed through at least Feb. 17, according to the township.

A township news release stated that a decision would be made Feb. 16 as to whether township offices and facilities would be open Feb. 17.
