Two westbound lanes on Woodlands Parkway on the Lake Woodlands bridge will remain closed through the end of this week for road work, according to Montgomery County Precinct 3.

The closure includes the left and middle westbound lanes, leaving only the right lane open to traffic. The lanes are closed to allow for the replacement of two concrete pavement slabs on the west side of the bridge that had shifted and become uneven, Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack said in a Facebook post. Noack said he expects the repairs will be completed by the end of the week, weather permitting, and it will likely affect traffic on one of The Woodlands' busiest roads.

"Drivers should expect delays all week when traveling west on Woodlands Parkway toward the bridge as well as when accessing Woodlands Parkway from Grogan’s Mill Road. Motorists are highly encouraged to use alternative routes," Noack said in his Facebook post.

The repairs come around one month after Precinct 3 completed its $6.8 million widening of Woodlands Parkway from six to eight lanes west of Grogans Mill Road to west of I-45. That project added new westbound lanes on the road and was funded through the 2015 Montgomery County road bond.
