1.  Woodlands Parkway widening


Woodlands Parkway will be widened from six to eight lanes from west of I-45 to a half-mile west of the Grogans Mill Road overpass. The project will add one lane in each direction with right-turn and acceleration lanes at major intersections. Crews completed pouring concrete at the intersections of westbound Woodlands Parkway and Six Pines Drive as well as High Timbers Drive and Woodlands Parkway in mid-March, Montgomery County Precinct 3 officials said. Crews were also expected to complete the intersection at the Glade Arts Foundation entrance and to relocate the concrete barriers to the west, officials said.

2.  Rayford Road expansion


This project will widen Rayford Road from four to six lanes between Lazy Lane and the Grand Parkway, construct a six-lane bridge over the Union Pacific Corp. tracks, install new traffic signals and add a raised median. In mid-March, construction crews were installing the storm drainage system, and road widening work was planned after its completion, Precinct 3 officials said. Work in March included installing storm drainage pipes along westbound Rayford near the Union Pacific Corp. bridge.

3.  Birnham Woods Drive widening


Birnham Woods Drive will be widened from two to four lanes from 500 feet north of Fuller Bluff Drive to 500 feet north of Elan Boulevard, and a 3,900-square-foot bridge is under construction over the channel crossing just north of Cedarwood Trace Drive. In mid-March, crews were working on constructing new bridge lanes between Lake Bend Shore and Legends Run drives, officials said.

4.  Elan Boulevard widening


The project will widen Elan Boulevard from two to four lanes from Aldine Westfield Road to Birnham Woods Drive and will also widen Aldine Westfield from two to four lanes from Elan to Knoll Oaks Lane. Precinct 3 officials said in mid-March the project was almost complete.
Timeline: August 2018-May 2019
Cost: $2 million

5.  FM 2978 widening


This project will widen FM 2978 from two to four lanes with a center turn lane from FM 1488 to south of Dry Creek in Phase 1, and from south of Dry Creek to Conroe-Hufsmith Road in Phase 2. The existing bridge over Spring Creek will also be widened. As of mid-March, the first phase of the project was 19 percent complete, and the second phase of the project was 41 percent complete, according to Emily Black, public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation.
Timeline: September 2018-second quarter 2021 (Phase 1), January 2018-fourth quarter 2019 (Phase 2)
