Construction on the Woodlands Parkway widening project began in February and is expected to be complete by April 2019, county officials said.

The project will widen Woodlands Parkway from six to eight lanes just west of I-45, to half a mile west of Grogan’s Mill Road. The project will also add auxiliary lanes between signalized intersections.

The $4.9 million project is funded through the 2015 Montgomery County Road Bond.

According to a project update from Montgomery County Precinct 3, storm water pollution prevention plan erosion control measures have been installed, barricades will be placed and all traffic control signs throughout the project limits will be set.

Lane closures may temporarily occur throughout the duration of the project officials said, however no lane closures are allowed Mon.-Fri. from 7 a.m.-9 a.m. or from 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
