From a solar eclipse history lesson to a taco and tequila festival, there are several ways to spend time in and around The Woodlands this weekend, August 18-20.

Solar Eclipse: History, Science & Belief


In preparation for the solar eclipse, the Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center hosts this indoor class to explore the history of solar eclipses and the science behind them. Participants will also get to create their own solar eclipse viewers for safe observation of the spectacle on Aug. 21. The class is intended for students age 10 and older and registration is required. 10-11 a.m. Free. The Learning Experience hosts a free back-to-school bash to benefit local firefighters. The event includes Pinterest-inspired crafts, games and edible treats. The Texas Taco, Tequila and Margarita Festival takes place this weekend and features a variety of taco vendors, tequila flights and tastings, margaritas, a kids zone and live music.
