Oak Ridge North City Manager Vicky Rudy gave her official notice of resignation April 7 and will retire after August 31.
Rudy, who has been the city manager of Oak Ridge North for eight years and in the public service field for 20 years, said she is at the right age to retire and plans to focus on her personal life.
"There comes a time to step ahead and put energy into your personal life," Rudy said. "This [city manager] job has been the job of my life. I feel like a lot has been accomplished for the city."
Rudy said the city will start looking for someone immediately to fill the city manager position before her last day on August 31.
"I feel comfortable leaving now because I leave behind a staff that could run the city," she said.
